Just wanted to say that this website has brightened up our rainy day!! Ive been sat thinking of how to spend our day, when this website popped up! We are now off to try Hartford Little Birds, as it’s only over the road. Thank you :)

  2. claire CN says:

Hello there! I was just wondering if anyone has organised a sort of ‘meet-up’ from this website? I’m a single mum and new to the area with a four year old daughter. I’d love to meet some other parents with children for my daughter to meet!

    • Claire Claire says:

      Hi Claire

Its quite a new website and that’s not something I’d previously considered but I think it could work. I could add a forum section which might help aid parents to make new friends, as well as trying to arrange meet ups specifically through the site. This might take a little while to get up and running though – in the meantime most of the playgroups listed on the site are very friendly and welcoming to people new to the group, so do try a few of them. Are you a member of the NCT? – they are organising meet ups at Leo’s Funzone at Huntingdon one Friday a month – the first one will be Friday 27th April 3:30-6pm. Its fine to go along even if you are not a member if you just want to find out more as well. Also if you e-mail me direct at http://www.saveoursanity.org@gmail.com then I’d be more than happy to exchange details and meet up. I moved here last July so know exactly where you are coming from! I have a 4 year old son and a daughter who is nearly 1. (I’ve noticed this is adding a http: to the start of the e-mail address and can’t stop it doing it! Arrghh. Just start at the www bit!)

      • Claire says:

My daughter is 4 too – we should definitely meet up. And by the way, I’m Claire from HCR fm — we’ve exchanged emails =)

        • Claire Claire says:

Well, as that is at least 2 people who would like to meet up then I will set about arranging something in the next week or two and will post details on the site. It does appear you have to be called Claire to join in though…!

          • Claire Claire says:

To the two Claire’s and anyone else who like to be part of a ‘Save Our Sanity’ meet up – does a Monday / Wednesday or Friday afternoon suit?

  3. Have you tried Pop Bellies in town on the High Street? When Tom was little I would always go there for lunch with 7 other mum’s after BabyGrowz. It’s shabby-chic, but they really can’t do enough to help you, especially if you have a buggy and need chairs moving. Maybe we should go there for a coffee one morning??

It’s Bistro style, good for Work outings, breakfast at the weekends and a coffee or lunch mid-week. I last took Tom in for curly fries and a milk shake before Christmas.

    • Claire Claire says:

I’ve been there once a little while ago – always up for a coffee me though, so whenever is good for you!

  4. Bev says:

As a single Mum, I am never sure how to fill our weekends. No other site I have come accross has ideas for the weekend. This site is amazing! And so easy to use! Now I know what we are doing this weekend. Thanks and keep up the good work. Many Mums are going to be quietly praising you Im sure.

  5. colin says:

An excellent, bright header and a great site for parents with smallish children. Well done.

  6. Sallyann Woodthorpe says:

This is a brilliant site … I wish I had it three years ago, when I had a toddler and a baby.
    Well done!
